Meet Capsule Studio Vol 1: A Travel-inspired Pattern Collection

Capsule Studio: Well Traveled is a new sewing pattern collection from Sew News.
Take a look at Capsule Studio Vol. 1: Well Traveled.

We are so excited to tell you about a new pattern collection—and hopefully series! Capsule Studio: Well Traveled is a collection of six dynamic patterns. All are designed to mix and match together and pair with items you already have in your wardrobe.

As capsule wardrobes have taken hold in slow fashion and in sewing, we’ve fallen hard for them. Whether in the form of an online or personal challenge or simply a way to plan your makes, capsule wardrobes serve a very practical purpose. We also find them super inspiring!

The first installment of Capsule Studio focuses on a casual travel wardrobe. It features six designs by Hey June Handmade, Straight Stitch DesignsTuesday Stitches and more. Travel is the perfect reason to plan a capsule! Whether you’re traveling to a new place, a favorite haunt, or if you’re really restricted in terms of what you can take, a travel capsule gives you the opportunity to pack well, make beloved basics work for you in new ways, or explore a new-to-you style or silhouette.

The Shavano Pants from the Capsule Studio: Well Traveled Collection
Comfortable, elevated basics from Capsule Studio: Well Traveled. The Shavano Pants, designed by Erin Weisbart of Tuesday Stitches, worn with the Remmel Tank by Kimberly Payne of Straight Stitch Designs.

For this collection, think flowy and travel-friendly fabrics in natural fibers, think comfortable pieces that are wearable yet easy to dress up with accessories, think beginner-friendly pieces that are simple, classic and easy to sew . . . you’ve arrived at Capsule Studio: Well Traveled.

In addition to the pieces in the collection, we’ll provide tips to help you plan and a fabric guide for picking textiles that will work for your adventures. If your travel destination is slightly more upscale, however, you can trade in for higher-end fabrics like a satin Salzburg Jacket or silk Shavano Pants.

Please peruse the lookbook below for a full view of the collection. You’ll find the full collection available here for purchase. And please do let us know what you think!
