I am excited to show you the embroidered wrap belt I just made! When the summer sun blazes and the heat becomes almost unbearable, nothing compares to slipping into a garment that lightly drapes from your shoulders and just grazes your skin. Enter our Seychelles dress—the epitome of effortless summer chic. This versatile piece can transform based on the fabric you choose. Opt for a breezy voile, and it becomes the ideal swimsuit cover-up. Choose a luxe, slinky material, and it morphs into the perfect date night ensemble. This dress can be anything you want it to be, fitting seamlessly into every occasion.

While the allure of a loose, flowy dress is undeniable, sometimes a bit of structure is needed to accentuate the waist and add definition. That’s where a beautifully coordinated belt comes into play. Inspired by the Biker Belt project I created for Sew News Fall 2022, I crafted a new version using a striking black linen from my fabric stash. To tie it all together, I lined the belt ties with the same fabric as my Seychelles dress, creating a harmonious and polished look.

To elevate the summery vibe, I added a touch of embroidery to the belt. This not only enhances its seasonal appeal but also makes it a versatile accessory that can complement a variety of outfits in my wardrobe. The result is a chic, summer-friendly belt that effortlessly transitions my Seychelles dress from casual daywear to an elegant evening look.

Materials I Used:

Inspired by the Biker Belt tutorial from Sew News Fall 2022, I decided to dive into my fabric stash and found some black linen. With leftover scraps from my Seychelles dress, I lined the belt straps, ensuring a cohesive look. To add a personal touch, I downloaded the Fern Embroidery Pattern from Sew Daily and embellished it with a few beads from my jewelry-making supplies. This technique would work to embroidery a wrap belt using lots of different patterns.
